As much as we like to believe in the infinite possibility before us in this life and Universe, we are defined and limited creatures in the grand scope of things. Yet we still dream, have unrealistic expectations and lose ourselves in the daily experience and struggle (and thats ok sometimes). This can be due to outside conditioning or habits we form to survive our earlier years. It can be due to our design in general - not everybody is as gregarious or optimistic as others, and that's OK. But all that being said - how often do you find yourself tapped out on a daily basis, feeling like all the effort and grief you go through doesn't pan out as you would have hoped or expected? This writing and the concept came to my mind as I was resting on the couch after a long, hard, but rewarding week came to an "end". I felt something I hadn't felt in a long time and that was the benefit of having time off and being able to rest and not worry about the pressure of doing anything, or being busy. I pondered how this came to be, and what I have done recently to shape and manage my life in a way to be better balanced and a healthy, unblocked cycle of work, reward, rest, restart. Not as perfect as a Virgo Sun may wish, but better than it has been in a long time.
Like the image shown, we tend to overextend ourselves and our energy. We tap in to things constantly, but leave ourselves plugged in and move on to our next effort or attempt to find some fulfillment or energy return. If we do that too much, we give ourselves away. Our power diluted. Spread out and given away, under the control of others that 9 times out of 10, overlook your connection in their own quest for purpose and gratification. Take stock of your connections. Take stock of the things you invest yourself in regularly. What do they do? What is the potential? Is it just a waiting game or a gamble? Are you hitting every button on the elevator panel, hoping to find the floor that suits you or will lead you to your soul mate? That creates a long, arduous journey. Have you ever seen what happens when somebody does that in the elevator, but other people have to ride along with you? You can figure out how that will play out in the long run - people would rather use the stairs than be forced to play the game with you. You can't be surprised when people get pushed away by such intense, not-present efforts. (Be careful riding in an elevator with a 3 line)
So, what are you grateful for? What can you do right NOW that will give you some of your self or energy back?
What can be unplugged, or let go of (even if just temporarily) for now? It has to go both ways. As much as we want to be included in things, to plug in, to invest ourselves constantly, we have to do an equal share of releasing, surrendering, and adjusting, else we get spread too thin and lose our strength and foundation. Recollect yourself. Find gratitude to empower your thoughts and actions. Have a great weekend, everyone!
